MORE ABOUT JOB COSTING ...

What It Can Do For You
Job Manager helps you to prepare estimates, monitor and
control costs, compile bills, and measure the profitability of your projects.
Its flexible design makes it ideal for virtually any business that operates
on a job or project basis.
How Important Is This?
Costing is probably the key function in your company and
is directly related to your Accounts Payable,
Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions. Hours are entered directly from
job tickets or worksheets into the Job Costing System. These hours are summarized and totaled by
employee and passed to the Payroll System.
Vendor invoices, which are entered into the Accounts Payable system,
are directly posted to the appropriate job in the Job Costing System. Account Receivable invoices can directly
update Job-To-Date revenues.
All The Data In One Spot
You have the ability to view several different aspects of
your jobs by clicking on the various tabs across the top of the Maintain Jobs
screen. You can get a complete picture of just how far along the job is as
well as the materials used and the hours expended on each job. The payroll and Accounts Payable will
update the jobs as costs or hours are entered into those parts of the system.
Better Management
You can schedule activities for better management of your
jobs. Work in Progress is available
at a glance as well as any AIA billings or Change Order information you might
need. We have included a Notes Menu Bar option. You can keep information about the job and use it for future
reference, like personal comments on the crew or supervisor or information
about job delays or equipment problems etc.

WIP – Work
In Process at a Glance
Job Costing is a means to record all costs directly
attributable to a particular job, in order to determine profitability. Job
Costing is applicable over a wide range of industries such as manufacturers ,
labor and materials contractors, value added re-sellers and general
contractors. As in any Job Costing program; flexibility, ease of use and
accurate reporting are most important. Reports, such as the Work in Process
Report, are available in this system on demand.
Anything Can Be View On The Screen
But before you need to print out reports you can see the current status
of all phases of a job right on the screen. In the Maintain Jobs screen, you
can check estimated dollars against actual costs to date (your work in
process) by simply clicking on the button labeled WIP. In addition to your
estimated and actual costs, you can see view total purchase orders and the
amount over or under billed for each activity or phase on your job. All of
the job cost is updated as entries are made through the other modules of the
system, and all Work in Process can be viewed on this screen to enable better
tracking of any job with just a glance. You can spot potential problems
early. The earlier you find a problem the easier it is to correct.
